In the waning moments of a disastrous conference on climate change in Copenhagen, President Obama came up with a compromise that volunteers us to send 30 Billion (with a capital B) to poor countries for emergency climate aid. Can someone please explain why 30 Billion dollars sent to poor tropical countries is going to change the weather? Seriously, for the sake of argument, let's say industry can change the weather. It isn't the 3rd world countries creating the problem. Is it that we just feel guilty that we are so industrialized that I feel I need to sacrifice to some 3rd world country. No, I am rather proud of our achievements and I am proud of my country, I have no apologies to make.
I have news for these crazies. AMERICA IS POOR TOO! We are borrowing at a such a rate, some folks say that we can never repay it. In effect we are going to borrow money from probably China, who thinks this whole climate thing is a bunch of hog wash and give it to other countries. Is there a better reason for the Chinese to cut us off? I am just hoping that this takes some sort of congressional approval. And I hope it gets delayed until after the elections. By the way, these payments ramp up to 100 billion per year in 10 years. I guess I was hoping that there might be some of the social security money that I have been paying towards when I come of age. No, our administration finds poor tropical countries more important than our own.
