Oct. 21: President Obama arrives to deliver remarks at a campaign rally for Gov. Jon Corzine in Hackensack, N.J. (AP)
This is a great thing for our President to be doing. New Jersey Governor Corzine is getting smoked by Republican candidate Chris Christie by 10%. In the midst of a battle where the American ground forces are screaming for help by sending more troops our President can't stop with the politics to make a war time decision. He continues to risk lives to ratchet up the politics. Ubsurd.
Just curious here, and I agree with you completely that Obama cant make a decision one way or another, but why isnt simply bringing ourt troops home the most effective way to keep them from harms way?
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, the wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq are pointless. Iraq never had any of the things that were used as the excuse to go to war there ie. weapons of mass destruction and so forth. Afghanistan, while it was where Al-Qieda was primarily based is no longer where they are based and we didnt go to war there to fight the Taliban. We went there to get Osama Bin-Laden, and failed. So what exactly is the point of our soldier being there and risking thier lives now anyway?
And another thing. Does it really matter if its a Republican, Democrat or Independant that wins an election? Seriously, all political parties are so corrupt to the core and do not represent the people anymore what difference does it make? we are gonna get screwed no matter what and none are any better then the rest.
Thanks for the response, first one after firing up the ol' blog again.
ReplyDelete1. I would agree, the way we are currently fighting these wars we should just bring them home. I think the safest way to fight any war is to fight to win and win quick and big. Afganastan and Iraq should both be wondering what happened by now and we should be home.
2. The ironic thing about Iraq we are now making sure the people are liberated. The only problem is that while we are doing that, Obama is taking our liberty. His pay Czar is cutting executive pay. This Czar has no constitutional power to do this.
3. I think there are some good people who can represent the Republican Party the way we want it represented. Bobby Jhindal is conservative, Paul Ryan is awesome but I don't think he has talked about running for Pres. I don't think she would get elected but Sarah Palin is a standout conservative. Outside of the few I know of, most of Repbublicans want to move to the center while with Obama in office the center is moving further left. By the way, I thought Bush was a waste of energy at the end of his 2nd term.
I think I made this answer a long one but if we get another McCain type candidate, nothing will change. It is scary what could happen to this country in 3 years.
Thanks again for the resonse!
I think the real problem I am having with Afganastan is that the US citizens don't know what we are even trying do to there anymore. If it is to put an end to the terrorist regimes, then let's send the support we need and win. Condi Rice said if we want another terrorist attack, leave Afganastan before the terrorist regimes are defeated.
ReplyDeleteTo your hopes for the next repub presidential candidate. Jhindal seems like he is ok, even to me. I don't know anything at all about Paul Ryan, so I can't comment on him. But Palin? Really? Your being serious? That person is a vindictive village idiot that is less intelligent than a basic box of rocks on queludes!
ReplyDeleteSo stop it, your making me laugh!
Your absolutely right about Mac though or anyone even remotely like him. I really think he partially (comletely) lost his mind at some point during the campaign.
Oh, your problem with Afghanistan I can agree with. I can even add to it. Not only doesn't the American public know what we are fighting for there anymore, niether does our government. I don't care what we do there, we can't win. The Soviets fought there forever and changed nothing. They are not like us, they don't live like us, they don't think like us, they don't wage war like us. They aren't going to beat us, they will just keep doing what they do until we have no choice but to pack up and go home cause we can't afford it anymore.
I appreciate the comments for sure, thanks for doing it. Regarding Palin, what I meant was that I think Palin has some good conservative principles. She isn't nearly polished enough to be President but I admire that she will take a bold stand against the grain. I think it will take someone like that if we are going to be different. I would be surprised if she even runs. I have a feeling the Republican ticket
ReplyDeletewill be Romney/Huckabee, or vise-versa which will be more of the same, although Romney was atleast fiscally responsible in MA.
I think Obama is trying to get our allies to pledge more troops with us in Afganistan. He was on the same mission earlier this summer and only England would commit any more troops. They committed like 1000 more to grow their troop size to just over 9000. He also started to say this was a NATO war and then stopped saying that, I assume becuase it was obvious that he really doesn't have any intention of winning, in which case, lets bring our boys home now.
I have a real problem saying that we should give up and come home. And that is not what I am saying. I am saying if our Administration doesn't want to give them what they need whether it be support or direction, I say we give up on our administration, not our fellas.
